Happy Tuesday Indy. Posted up at Global Village Welcome Center for the Indiana Primary Election. Sharing some stories of voters in the area @indydocumenters

Just met Angelica Carter, a Pike Township Resident. First time voting at this site.
"I feel disenfranchised by my party.
I feel like nobody is fighting for the black voter. Republicans don't seem to care that they have a black constituency & often demonize the black community.

Where's the outrage from the Democratic party? Where's the pushback from the Dems to the Reps? "
Angelica happened upon this voting by being at shop next door. Praised how Marion County makes it more accessible to cast a vote (multiple & new voting sites. Able to cast a ballot anywhere in the county)
Daniel Del Real works at Global Village who is a Eagledale neighborhood resident. Wasn't able to vote today because he's not a citizen.
"I never had the experience of voting so I tend to stay out of politics. The people around me tend to lean Democratic, and pro-immigration and I think that's beneficial."
When asked about local issues he'd like to see addressed. "I think this neighborhood can benefit from more school options. We need a high school in the area."
Daniel mentions that people think this area is full of crime and that's just not the case. Better marketing or better reporting would change the outview of this neighborhood.
Daniel Del Real is the curator of the Village and handle of the some exhibits that take place.

"The main goal here is to promote all the global culutrs around this neighborhood and city. Mexican, Nigerian and Haitian communities are the largest on the west side, and we want to make sure we represent them all"
Dorothy Bies-Benberry. She's been to Global Villlage for many events before, first time voting at this site.
"I'm happy with my party and candidates today. City-wise I like to see them improve the street and the trash. "I just want everybody to come together."

Her and husband mentioned they'd like to see the neighborhood built back up - as there are a lot of vacant building around
Some other local issues they'd like to see addressed were speeding down 38th and in neighborhoods and addressing the care homeless individuals are seeking

On the national level, they hope to see the Democratic party do something about the Israeli-Hamas war. Hostages released, war to stop, and Palestinians and Israelis to live in harmony.
That wraps up my time here at Global Village Welcome Center. Once home to a Value City, residents are pleased to see a beautiful, convening pace in their neighborhood. I encourage you to check out the Village e as they offer plenty of art, exhibits, and events!
