Join Chicago Documenters staff in attending Mayor Brandon Johnson’s budget address, when he will introduce the city’s budget for 2025 and how he plans to close a $982 million gap.

Think of this as a paid field trip / learning opportunity. Instead of the usual notes or live-tweeting, we will sit together as a group and you will write your observations down on a paper handout. ChiDocs staff will be there before the meeting starts and for the duration of the meeting.

This is a great opportunity for new and more experienced Documenters alike to get a good idea of what to expect during the upcoming budget season. Space is limited to 10 people; we will send further information if you are assigned.

Note that the meeting is expected to start at 10 a.m. but we have listed an earlier time on the assignment so we have time to coordinate as a group.
